Traffic lights at an Emporia construction zone will be out of service “temporarily and intermittently” until further notice.
The city says KDOT’s contractor is currently working on lights at Sixth and Prairie, meaning the traffic signal will be out of service during this part of work towards geometric improvements at the intersection. The city has not mentioned how long this process could last.
The overall project could last through mid-August.
Separately, traffic lights at Sixth and Commercial are also down as well. Emporia Police say that intersection is being handled by temporary stop signs in a four-way stop pattern. The reason behind that outage has not been released.
