Newman Regional Health’s slate of Denim and Diamonds fundraising events teed off Friday morning.
The Emporia Golf Course played host to the inaugural Denim and Diamonds Golf Tournament which included 21 teams from the local community. NRH Director of Business Operations Steven Bazaan says they were thrilled for the tremendous turnout, especially for a first-year event.
Bazaan says adding the golf tournament is just one of many ideas the hospital came up with after setting several new goals in recent months. He adds the timing could not have been more perfect.
Next for NRH will be the 14th annual D&D Kickoff BBQ in the hospital’s parking lot next Thursday. The annual cornhole tournament will be on June 17.
The signature event will be Aug. 4 inside the ESU Memorial Union’s Webb Hall. All proceeds go to equipment purchases, such as a stereotactic mammogram device for the Jones Breast Care Center. For more information about Denim and Diamonds activities, go online to newmanrh.org/dd.
