A crash involving a UTV just southeast of Emporia early Saturday sent one rider to Newman Regional Health for treatment.
Lyon County Deputy Dylan Jacobs says the crash was reported in the 1400 block of Road M just before 1 am. Jacobs says 21-year-old Tylon Ybarra of Cottonwood Falls was driving southbound through a field when he lost control of the UTV. It rolled an unknown number of times, ejecting 20-year-old Hunter McCoy of Emporia in the process.
McCoy was not wearing a seatbelt. He was taken to the hospital with suspected serious injuries.
Lyon County deputies are still investigating this crash.
