A two-vehicle wreck near Wichita led to a hospital trip for an Emporia man Saturday morning.
The crash happened at the junction of Kansas Highway 254 and Rock Road shortly before 8:15 pm. The Kansas Highway Patrol says a car driven by 68-year-old Mary Hunt of Wichita was northbound on Rock Road and failed to yield to a pickup driven by 46-year-old Gildardo Ortiz of Emporia, with the Ortiz truck hitting Hunt’s car.
Both drivers suffered possible injuries, but only Ortiz was hospitalized, going to Wesley Medical Center for observation and treatment. Ortiz was also not wearing his seatbelt, while Hunt was.
