Match Day 2023 to set records for participating groups, matching funds pool

The Emporia Community Foundation has set the table for a banner Match Day this upcoming fall.
As part of a special live reveal on KVOE’s airwaves Tuesday, Community Foundation CEO Becky Nurnberg announced a record 35 organizations participating this year. Besides the expanded participation list, the matching pool is at an all-time high, thanks to 13 funding groups and a $70,000 infusion from the Patterson Foundation. Last year’s Match Day generated almost $502,000 for 28 participating groups. The event had now showered close to 50 non-profits in Lyon and surrounding counties with over $2.3 million since the event began. This will be the 10th annual Match Day in November.

 

Noon Tuesday

More community groups are involved in the Emporia Community Foundation’s upcoming Match Day than ever before. And there’s a larger matching pool of available funds than ever.

KVOE served as the voice of this year’s Match Day beneficiary list with a live broadcast at Flinthills Mall. Community Foundation CEO Becky Nurnberg announced a record 35 organizations participating this year.

Besides the expanded participation list, the matching pool swelled from $70,000 to $175,000.

Last year’s Match Day generated almost $502,000 for 28 participating groups. The event had now showered close to 50 non-profits in Lyon and surrounding counties with over $2.3 million since the event began. This will be the 10th annual Match Day in November.

The Patterson Foundation is contributing $70,000 as part of a matching program for community foundations.
