Wednesday is shaping up to be a busy day in Lyon County District Court.
*Norwin Alexis Matey-Matey has a preliminary hearing at 9 am on charges of trafficking cocaine into the Lyon County Jail, possession of cocaine and traffic violations after an alleged incident in late March.
*Brenda Rodriguez has a preliminary hearing at 9:30 am. She has been charged with one count of aggravated battery after an alleged incident in early January.
*Also at 9:30 am, Jovani Sotelo will be in court for a motions hearing. Sotelo is charged with two counts of rape and one of aggravated criminal sodomy after an alleged incident in January.
*Agustin Vargas has a preliminary hearing at 10:30 am on single charges of distributing up to 450 grams of marijuana, possessing paraphernalia and hosting minors consuming alcohol after an alleged incident last month.
*David Brown is in court at 4 pm for a trial status hearing. Brown is charged with one count of aggravated burglary and two of aggravated battery after an incident in late February. Trial could begin as soon as Monday in this case.
