A second incumbent has filed for re-election to the Neosho Rapids City Council.
Karla Mendoza filed her paperwork Tuesday, joining fellow incumbent Brian Shank on the ballot. Elsewhere, Americus City Council incumbent Nicolette Nuessen has filed for re-election, as have Emporia City Commission incumbents Erren Harter and Becky Smith.
For school boards, incumbent Jeremy Dorsey has filed for re-election to the USD 253 board. Incumbents Emily Darbyshire, Charles Steffes and Gene Windle have filed for re-election to their spots on the USD 252 board, and newcomer Justin Farr has also filed.
The candidate filing and withdrawal deadline is noon June 1. If enough candidates file for election a primary will be held Aug. 1. City Commission, City Council, mayor and school board positions are part of this election cycle.
