The Emporia High girls’ soccer team dropped a heartbreaker 3-2 in overtime to Topeka High Thursday night.
Topeka High scored 2 goals in the first half, the first goal came in the first 5 minutes of play.
Emporia High would rally in the second half, Emeil Bennett scored with 34:53 to play in the second half. Karah Cooper tied the match with 15:51 to play.
Topeka High scored the winning goal with 6:33 to play in the first overtime.
Emporia High Coach Oscar Macias was pleased with the way the team responded in the 2nd half.
The Lady Spartans close out the regular season with a match against Circle Friday, kick-off is set for 5 pm at Emporia High School.
