Emporia High School Class of 2023 will give the step to the next chapter of their lives this Sunday afternoon.
This year’s class has above 250 seniors, which in comparison to the previous classes is a small number but had overcome a lot during their time at school.
Emporia High School Principal Dathan Fischer says he is proud of this class as they overcome during their freshman and sophomore years the COVID-19 pandemic and have made the most of their time during these last four years.
Fischer also says that even though this is a small class they have a great number of scholarships cumulative which is over $1 million.
The graduation of EHS Class of 2023 will start at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 14 at White Auditorium and this year’s commencement speakers are Kaitlyn Velazquez and Emma Jung.
