Charges have been filed following an alleged escape by a Lyon County inmate earlier this week.
According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Hannah Wilson was being taken from Newman Regional Health back to the Lyon County Jail after a routine medical screening Wednesday afternoon. Just before going into the jail, Wilson allegedly got one hand out of her cuffs, escaped and fled on foot westbound on Fifth.
Authorities found Wilson hiding in a shed in the 400 block of Constitution a few minutes later. Wilson has been charged with single counts of interference with law enforcement, aggravated escape from custody while being held for a felony and battery on law enforcement.
Wilson’s first appearance for this case will be May 15 at 1:15 pm before Judge Doug Jones.
The alleged escape followed Wilson’s first appearance in Lyon County District Court on charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, interference with law enforcement and criminal trespass after an alleged incident from earlier this month. Wilson has a preliminary hearing May 31 in that case.
