The Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve has re-opened its visitors center after months of work.
Several processes have been underway so far this year, including elevating the center roofline and improvements to the breezeway and parking areas. With the work now completed, the visitor center now among several buildings open to the public, including the historic house, barn and Lower Fox Creek schoolhouse.
Summer operating hours for the visitor center are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm daily. Trails, restroom facilities, parking lots and all other outdoor areas are open 24 hours a day unless otherwise specified.
