Emporia Police have confirmed an investigation is underway into reports of an Emporia Middle School staff member allegedly touching female students at the school’s spring dance Friday.
Officers are not confirming the name of the staff member allegedly involved or other aspects of the investigation, although they say they received multiple reports of alleged inappropriate conduct Friday evening. Preliminary results may be available early next week.
There is no confirmation of an arrest at this time.
USD 253 Community Relations Director Lyndel Landgren says the district is also investigating the alleged incident, telling KVOE News, “Student safety is our top priority and we take all concerns seriously.”
