Introductions of new committees highlighted the Regional Development Association of East Central Kansas’ monthly meeting Friday morning.
According to RDA President Chuck Scott, Friday’s agenda included the introduction of members to the RDA’s new business appreciation and manufacturing committees. Scott tells KVOE News the business appreciation committee is just that, a board of individuals tasked with ensuring local businesses receive the appreciation the RDA believes they deserve for their service to the community.
The Manufacturing committee was established to serve as a “future talent pipeline” for the local community. Their major task is to help identify any “gaps” in the current manufacturing sector and find ways to close them.
Both committees are made up of six members with the business appreciation committee consisting of Caron Daugherty, Kala Maxfield, Becky Smith, Matt Johnson, Russ Bonitatibus and Lori Clark. The manufacturing committee consists of Brad Kraft, Corey Spikes, Cory Falldine, Greg Schneider, Shelly Gehrke and Brad Yount.
In other business Friday, Scott delivered the monthly President’s report, the monthly budget report and bank statements were presented and one executive session was held. The RDA Board will next convene for its monthly meeting in June.
According to Scott, the RDA will not convene in July or August.
