The Emporia High boys’ golf team is heading to state.
Emporia High qualified for state by finishing second in the Class 5A regional hosted by Seaman at Lake Shawnee Monday afternoon.
Emporia High shot a 340 as a team, finishing 26 strokes behind regional champion Shawnee Heights.
Individually, Caden Massey led Emporia High finishing sixth with an 83.
Nolan Jacob finished seventh with an 84.
Will Walker finished 12th with an 86.
Hudson Sauder finished 14th with an 87.
Jared Johnson finished 18th with a 91.
Brayden Bowen finished 22nd with a 94.
The Class 5A State Golf Tournament will be held next Monday and Tuesday at Turkey Creek Golf Course in McPherson.
Area regional golf results:
Lyndon has qualified for the 2A State tournament to be played at Hesston. Lyndon finished in 3rd place at the Uniontown hosted regional.
Jackson Biggs had the low score for Lyndon finishing in a tie for 9th place.
Osage Citys Owen Bailey qualified for the 3A state tournament. He finished in a tie for 11th place and had the 4th lowest score not on a qualifying team at the Osage City Regional. Osage City finished in 3rd place at the Osage City regional.
Tuesday-
Hartford and Olpe will play at the Centralia Regional.
Council Grove and Burlington will play at the Hesston regional.
