Meetings are coming Tuesday for the Emporia-Lyon County Metropolitan Area Planning Commission and the Lyon County Board of Zoning Appeals.
The Planning Commission meets second but has the longer agenda. Board members will consider an application for what’s called the JTS Retail Addition at Goodcents, 1002 East 12th. The tentative plan is to remove the go-kart track and batting cage to build a new retail facility at that space. Other details have not been divulged.
Board members will also consider an application to rezone property at 227 East from R-1 Low-Density Residential to I-1 Light Industrial. There will also be talk about a resolution “finding it advisable to annex certain real property into the city limits,” in this case Industrial Park 4 near Penny Lane and Weaver Street.
Longstanding conversations about changes to city zoning code will finish the meeting.
Beforehand, the Board of Zoning Appeals has its meeting — but the only order of business is to approve the minutes from the April meeting.
The slate of meetings begins at 6 pm Tuesday at the Municipal Court Room.
