The Emporia High softball team opens regional play Wednesday against Kapaun Mt. Carmel.
It’s the second time the two teams met. Kapaun Mt. Carmel won the first game 13-3 in six innings on May 6.
Senior Kaylee Reimer says the Lady Spartans learned multiple things from the first matchup against the Crusaders.
The winner will take on either Salina South or Arkansas City for the right to go to the Class 5A state tournament. The regional tournament will be played at Two Rivers Youth Complex in Wichita.
Emporia High will take a 5-15 record into the game. Kapaun Mt. Carmel is 16-4.
