Monday’s rainfall led to one crash southwest of Emporia that ended with a hospital trip for the driver.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says the wreck happened shortly after 8 am at Kansas Turnpike mile marker 113 southbound, or near the Flint Hills cattle pens exit and 14 miles southwest of Emporia. 61-year-old Lori Jones of Winfield was driving her pickup when it hydroplaned and hit the center barrier wall.
Jones went to Newman Regional Health with suspected minor injuries.
