The Emporia High girls swim and dive team will send two athletes to the Class 5-1A state swim and diving championships that begin Thursday.
Freshman Allisyn Weiss and senior Jacey Stutler qualified for state in diving earlier this season.
Stutler will be making her second trip to state. She finished eighth last year.
Weiss will be making her first trip to state. She’s been able to learn from her sister, Haylee, who made four trips to state and won three state championships.
Emporia High coach Barb Clark says Stutler and Weiss are ready to compete.
Weiss and Stutler will compete Thursday in the prelims and semifinals. The finals are scheduled for Saturday in Topeka.
The 200 and 400 freestyle relays both missed the cut for state. The top 24 times in each swim event qualify for state.
