A trip to state is on the line for the Emporia High track and field teams.
The Spartans and the Lady Spartans will compete in the Andover regional.
Senior Kyle Obermeyer is coming off a Centennial League championship in the 110m hurdles.
Junior Mia Trujillo is coming off a Centennial League championship in the discus.
The top four in each event qualify for next week’s state meet in Wichita.
The meet will be held at Andover Central High School.
Other regional scheduled for Thursday include the 2A regional at Lyndon which features Lyndon, Chase County, and Northern Heights.
