Visit Emporia is getting ready for a new venture that will include Emporia but will take area residents well beyond the city limits.
The METL Coalition — for Manhattan, Emporia, Topeka and Lawrence — has developed the Prairie Pour Tour that will take residents to breweries, distilleries and wineries in and around the four cities — including Emporia’s Radius Brewing and Trolley House Distillery. On KVOE’s Talk of Emporia on Wednesday, Visit Emporia Director LeLan Dains said residents can enjoy the different businesses and possibly win swag as part of this effort.
Also, the breweries, distilleries and wineries on the tour may have other associated events added to community calendars before the year’s out.
Dains also says Emporia stands to gain a lot from an effort pairing the city with some of the state’s larger cities. The Prairie Pour Tour starts next month and continues through the rest of the year. It will then be available all next year.
