Separate crashes in Shawnee County led to injuries for an Emporia woman and Lebo man Wednesday.
The first crash happened in southern Shawnee County near Auburn Road and Southwest 46th just after 4 pm. The Kansas Highway Patrol says the driver of a 2014 Chevy Cruze rear-ended a pickup driven by 59-year-old Ernest Ehrhart of Lebo and then fled the scene.
Ehrhart suffered potentially minor injuries but went to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka for treatment afterward.
The second wreck happened just after 10 pm at Kansas Turnpike mile marker 169.5 southbound. Troopers say 38-year-old Jessica Renae File of Emporia was driving a minivan when a deer began crossing the highway. The van hit the deer.
File was taken to Stormont-Vail with possible injuries. The status of a juvenile in the van is not being divulged.
