Expect a lot of lines at Flinthills Mall on Saturday — not like anybody will be complaining.
The lines will be in front of the 10 entries in the mall’s spring Food Truck Rally. Mall manager Clarency Frye says this is great for customers, both outside and inside the mall.
Participating food trucks include:
*Kansas Snack Shack
*Kansas Snack Shack Grillin’ and Chillin’
*Lazy Butt BBQ
*Poppin Squeeze
*JD’s Pizza
*Kona Ice
*Mis ANtojitos
*Hogman BBQ
*Shelby’s Snack Shack
*Little Nut Hut
Flinthills Mall now has a spring and fall Food Truck Rally due to the event’s popularity. Saturday’s event officially begins at 11 am in the west parking lot along Industrial Road.
Separately, Frye is anticipating a significant announcement about a new tenant soon. Negotiations have been publicized about conversations between the mall and Harbor Freight. Frye says some slope issues for the south parking lot have to be resolved, but he expects a signed lease — and more information about a new tenant soon. Frye says the mall will go from 80 percent capacity to 87 percent capacity if things go as planned, and he’s hoping for at least 90 percent capacity by the end of the year.
