Hetlinger Developmental Services is bringing back a popular local project this weekend.
Saturday morning Hetlinger is hosting an aluminum can drive at its facility at 707 South Commercial. Residents are invited to bring all of their aluminum cans to the facility to have them weighed with each pound of cans netting residents 50 cents.
Heltinger Director Jill Burton, who is taking part in her first can drive, says the event comes with two major benefits.
Burton says due to the drive’s popularity residents may have a bit of a wait when they arrive. Those wishing to donate to the aluminum can drive need to pull into the parking lot at 707 South Commercial and volunteers will assist them with their cans.
The can drive will run until noon.
