Classic car owners will be filling up parking spaces in Emporia and Bushong Saturday.
The 29th annual Flatland Cruisers Car Show will take over downtown Emporia at 9 am. Robert Sieberns of Flatland Cruisers, a recent guest of KVOE’s Morning Show, says even more than the event itself, the club is excited for the weather forecast which is calling for warm and sunny conditions throughout.
Sieberns says he expects the forecast will provide a great boost to entries.
In addition to the various vehicles lined up across Commercial, the event will also include Hot Wheel races for younger residents beginning at 1 pm. Day of registration will start at 8 am and is $20 per entry.
The event will conclude with awards and a prize drawing at 3 pm. Sieberns says the event’s awards are unique to the event and ones that every entrant will want to have on their mantle.
At the same time, Bushong will be hosting its own car show and fish fry benefiting the North Lyon County Veterans Memorial starting at 10 am. Activities will take place in Bushong City Park and will run until 4 pm.
