Three people were injured following a two vehicle collision at an Emporia intersection Friday.
According to Emporia Police the collision at 6th and Chestnut occurred at 5 pm and involved a Toyota Camry and Chevy passenger car. Police say the Camry was eastbound on sixth while the Chevy was traveling northbound on Chestnut.
The Chevy reportedly failed to yield and was struck on the driver side. One person had to be extricated from the Chevy and two individuals were taken by ambulance to Newman Regional Health while a third went by private vehicle.
Details on injuries, the names of those involved and word on possible citations have not been announced. Eastbound traffic was fully disrupted with westbound traffic down to one lane for roughly 45 minutes following the accident.

Two people hurt after a crash at a busy Emporia intersection Friday.
The crash was reported around 5 pm at Sixth and Chestnut and involved at least two vehicles. Both people hurt in the wreck were taken to Newman Regional Health for observation and possible treatment, with one driver extricated before transport.
Details about how the crash unfolded are currently unclear.
The crash blocked eastbound traffic and one lane of westbound traffic at the intersection. KVOE and KVOE.com will have updates.
