Emporia Spartan Boxing fought hard but came up just short at the inaugural Nico Hernandez Invitational in Wichita Saturday.
Both 14-year-old Xavier Cheney and 21-year-old Cadon Osborne went the distance losing by split and unanimous decisions respectively. 20-year-old Pierce Moore lost by stoppage in the opening round.
Emporia Spartan Boxing will return to action in June.
