13 staff members of USD 253 Emporia were recently recognized for their outstanding work by receiving financial gifts from the Hopkins Foundation.
Each of the 13 staffers received a $2,500 check from the foundation that can be used however the recipient chooses. This is a return to the foundation’s original format according to USD 253 Emporia Community Relations Director Lyndel Landgren.
Landgren says the awards are a great opportunity to reward individuals who truly go above and beyond in their service to students.
The awards were delivered on May 12th and 15th. Recipients were nominated for meeting any of the following five criteria:

*Noteworthy Service
*Collaboration
*Overall Commitment to Excellence
