The Emporia High boys’ golf team finished in 5th place at the 5A State tournament that wrapped up Tuesday.
Individually Caden Massey had the low score for the Spartans. He finished in 10th place with a plus 1.
Hudson Sauder and William Walker tied for 29th place and Nolan Jacob tied for 33rd place.
Jared Johnson finished in 54th place and Brayden Bowen finished in 55th place.
Bishop Carroll won the 5A team championship. Noah Holtzman of Bishop Carroll took medalist honors finishing 13 under par.
At the 3A tournament, Council Groves Drew Buchman finished in 14th place.
At the 1A tournament played at the Emporia Golf Course South Gray won the team championship, Washington County finished 2nd, and Ashland 3rd.
Spencer Coup of Solomon took medalist honors finishing +12.
