One person was taken to Newman Regional Health following a two-vehicle accident in central Emporia Tuesday afternoon.
The accident was reported at the intersection of West 9th Ave. and Oak Street just after 4 pm. According to Emporia Police, a 2013 Chevy Silverado was traveling east on 9th and made a northbound turn onto Oak where it struck a westbound 2015 Nissan Sentra head-on.
The driver of the Sentra, an unnamed female, was taken to Newman Regional Health complaining of chest pain. The driver of the Silverado, an unnamed male, suffered no apparent injuries.
