Three runs in the 10th inning gave the Detroit Tigers an 8-5 win over the Kansas City Royals Monday night.
The Tigers scored 3 runs in the 1st inning. The Royals answered with 3 in the bottom of the 1st, Vinnie Pasquantino hit a 2-run home run followed by a Salvador Perez home run.
Detroit retook the lead with 2 runs in the 3rd inning.
The Royals tied the game at 5 on Jackie Bradleys 2 run home run in the 5th inning.
Detroit scored 3 runs in the 10th on a bases-loaded double by Javier Baez.
The Royals and Tigers play again Tuesday night with the first pitch at 6:40 pm. The game will be broadcast on KVOE 1400AM/96.9FM.
The Royals did make a roster move yesterday. Infielder Nicky Lopez returned from his rehab assignment and has been reinstated from the 10-day injured list.
The Royals have designated infielder Hunter Dozier for assignment.
