There was isolated severe weather activity and some heavy rainfall in the KVOE listening area Wednesday.
Storms began moving into the area before 4 pm, causing a severe thunderstorm warning for Lyon County just north of Emporia. Quarter-size hail was noted in the 1100 block of Janice and the intersection of 29th and Timmerman in west Emporia, while gusty winds downed a tree limb into some power lines in the 2800 block of Monterey, causing an arcing incident.

*Olpe: 1.4 inches
More showers and storms are possible Thursday afternoon into early evening. After dry days Friday and Saturday, storm chances resume Sunday and continue through the middle of next week.
