A wreck on the Kansas Turnpike in Topeka led to potentially serious injuries for an Emporia man on Thursday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 78-year-old Kenneth Walburn crashed at the mile marker 177 plaza around 2:20 pm. Walburn was getting onto the Turnpike when his pickup began fishtailing. Troopers say Walburn overcorrected and lost control, causing the truck to flip onto its passenger side.
Walburn went to Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka for treatment. He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
