People planning to go to Melvern Lake this holiday weekend don’t have to worry about blue-green algae alerts.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment lifted the algae watch for the lake this week. The lake had been in an algae watch or warning virtually all month.
Pomona Lake, which had been under an algae watch the last two weeks, had that alert lifted as well.
