Sentencing is ahead for a Lyon County rape suspect after a plea agreement finalized this week.
Isaac Arron Lawrence had been charged with one count of rape and two counts of aggravated indecent liberties, both involving the same child between the ages of 14 and 16, after an alleged incident on Christmas Eve 2021. Lawrence was also accused of furnishing alcohol to two children as part of the incident.
On Thursday, Lawrence accepted what’s called an Alford plea on two counts of unlawful voluntary sexual relations. An Alford plea means the defendant proclaims his or her innocence but admits there is enough evidence to convict.
Sentencing will be July 5 before Judge Jeff Larson.
Also, a pretrial hearing is coming in July for a separate Lyon County rape case.
Timothy Ray Davis was set for arraignment during a preliminary hearing this week. Davis is facing one count of rape and one of aggravated sexual battery, both involving an alleged victim who was incapable of giving consent due to alcohol or drugs as part of an alleged incident in early January. The rape count has an alternate count of aggravated sexual battery.
The pretrial hearing is July 7 before Judge Laura Miser.
