For the 21st year, the Jones Aquatic Center is open for business.
Hundreds of local residents jampacked the facility for the first day of the regular swim season Saturday afternoon. While all were able to enjoy the main pool, there were some notable absences for the second consecutive year.
Due to a water main issue reported earlier this week the splash pad, lazy river and water slide were all closed for the day. With that in mind, the JAC will have half-price admission until those amenities are back online.
The swim season will continue until August 13 when it comes to an end with the annual pooch plunge. Hours will be 1-6 pm daily.
Meanwhile, the splash pad at Peter Pan Park has been open since mid-May. Hours are 12-8 pm Mondays and 10 am to 8 pm all other days.
Children under age 9 must be accompanied by an adult.
