Four people were hospitalized following a two vehicle collision in Allen Saturday morning.
According to Lyon County Deputy Chuck Moore, a Ford F150 pickup driven by 21-year-old Jonte Krantz was westbound on US Highway 56 just before 11 am. Krantz passed three vehicles before it collided with a Ford F250 driven by 15-year-old Theodore Dean.
Dean was taken to Stormont Vail in Topeka with suspected serious injuries. Three passengers in the Krantz F150, 22-year-old Heather Mentzer, 22-year-old Miguel Munoz-Briseno and 21-year-old Riana Hernandez were taken to Newman Regional Health with “non-life-threatening injuries.”
All involved were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. Lyon County Deputies, Fire District 2 and Americus first responders all responded to the scene.
The investigation is ongoing through the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
Noon Saturday: UPDATE: One transported following two vehicle accident in Allen Saturday
At least one person was taken to Newman Regional Health following a two vehicle rollover accident Saturday morning.
A full crash narrative is still pending, however, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says two vehicles were involved in an injury accident in Allen around 11 am. Sheriff Jeff Cope tells KVOE News one of the vehicles involved rolled during the accident and one individual was pinned and later extricated from the vehicle.
That individual was taken to Newman with undisclosed injuries. Cope adds that a total of five individuals were involved in the accident, however, it is unknown if any other individuals required medical transport.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the accident. Stay with KVOE and KVOE.com for more details as they develop.
11:20 am Saturday: Rollover accident reported in Allen Saturday
Area emergency crews are responding to a rollover accident in Allen.
Allen Admire and Americus fire were called to the intersection of East 8th Street and Road L in Allen, 19 miles north of Emporia, at 11 am. Full details are pending, however, emergency traffic indicated at least three individuals were involved with one person pinned.
