A car crashed into a streetlight in northwest Emporia late Sunday afternoon, causing minor injuries for one of the two people inside.
The crash happened at the south intersection of 18th and Eaglecrest after 5 pm. Emporia Police officers on site say the driver was on 18th when the car went off the street just south of the Hannah Orthodontics building. The car dented a streetlight pole, causing the light itself to fall to the ground, and destroyed a traffic sign in the crash.
The passenger suffered minor injuries but was not transported to a hospital. The driver was not hurt. Officers say both were juvenile females. Their names have not been released.
Speed is being considered as a possible factor in the wreck.
