The weather pattern is looking unsettled from Memorial Day all the way through Unbound weekend.
There are at least slight chances of showers and storms beginning Sunday night and continuing through at least Saturday. Monday morning should be dry between sunrise and noon, meaning a dry period for Emporia’s Memorial Day services beginning at 9:30 am and airing in their entirety on 14 KVOE, 96.9 FM and KVOE-TV at KVOE.com.
The current forecast has moderate chances of rainfall Monday afternoon, Tuesday night and Thursday night through at least Saturday. Things may well change through the week, but TV-13 meteorologist Doug Meyers says Friday and Saturday have the best chances of storm activity. The severe weather risk is low all week, with the main concerns being lightning and heavy rain.
