A moderate chance of showers and storms remains in the forecast for Tuesday afternoon.
A few of the storms Tuesday afternoon may be borderline severe, but it appears any severe storm activity will stay north of Emporia.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a marginal risk for areas along and north of the US Highway 56 corridor, slightly north of the early-morning SPC forecast zone. Wind and brief heavy rainfall are the main concerns.

6:45 am Tuesday: Marginal risk just north of Emporia
There is a moderate chance of showers and storms for the mid-afternoon hours Tuesday and again for the early overnight hours Wednesday. A few of the storms Tuesday may be borderline severe, especially for the north half of the KVOE listening area.
The Storm Prediction Center has issued a marginal risk for areas along and north of a line from Council Grove to Americus to Lebo. The National Weather Service says storms may pulse, meaning they strengthen and weaken rapidly, with the main concern being damaging winds. Brief heavy rain is also possible.
Monday’s storm activity stayed along and south of US Highway 54 in Greenwood County. Moderate to good chances of showers and storms are now in the forecast almost constantly until Saturday afternoon, with possible breaks Wednesday night and Thursday night.
