Cardinals slip past Royals 2-1

The St. Louis Cardinals slipped past the Kansas City Royals 2-1 Tuesday night.
Zack Greinke gave up no runs on 2 hits thru 5 innings. He had a season-high 6 strikeouts.
The Cardinals would score single runs in the 6th and 8th innings. The Royals scored their lone run in the 9th inning. Vinnie Pasquantino scored on a Bobby Witt Jr ground out.
The Royals will be off for the next two days, they return to action Friday when they begin a 3 game series with the Colorado Rockies in Kansas City.
The Royals end the month of May with an overall record of 17 and 39. They were 10-17 for the month of May.
