The local community will be going fishing this weekend with a pair of tournaments on the community calendar.
The 13th annual Yeager/Jenkins fishing tournament will cast off Saturday at noon and continue through June 4. Organizer Nick Bess recently joined KVOE’s Morning Show to preview the event.
Bess says the event is an exciting experience everyone should take in at least once.
Once again this year, Bess says there are several cash prizes up for grabs in a range of categories.
For more information visit the Yeager/Jenkins Memorial Catfish Tournament Facebook page or contact Bess by calling 620-794-4203.
The entry fee is $100 per team of four with one alternate allowed. While the Yeager/Jenkins tournament is going on in Hartford, Osage County residents will be casting their lines in the water at Pamona State Park for the annual Cops and Bobbers fishing derby.
Fishing will begin Sunday at 10 am and will run until noon. A hot dog lunch will be provided in conjunction with a prize giveaway from noon to 1 pm.
For more information find the Osage County Sheriff’s Office or Cops and Bobbers event on Facebook.
