The Summer baseball season was scheduled to begin Friday for the Emporia Spartans. They were to scheduled to play a doubleheader at Newton. The games were rained out.
The team is made up of players from the Emporia High baseball team. Coach Anthony Markowitz says this summer is geared toward continued development.
Coach Markowitz says he is excited about the summer.
The Summer schedule does include the Sam Ellis Classic that will be played June 9th thru the 11th.
