(esu) The Emporia State football team is receiving some preseason recognition.
The Hornets are ranked 17th in Lindy’s Sports Magazine Division II Preseason Preview.
The Hornets are coming off a 9-3 season and a Live United Bowl Championship. They return 45 letter winners including seven starters on offense, six starters on defense and both kickers.
From the MIAA Pittsburg State is 4th and Northwest Missouri State is 5th in Lindy’s preseason poll.
