Emporia’s Presbyterian Manor celebrated renovations to two common areas in its facility with a ribbon cutting Tuesday morning.
The renovations are in the Jones Health Care and Memory Care areas of the facility at 2300 Industrial Road.
Emporia Presbyterian Manor Executive Director Susan Siepelmeier says it was time to renovate those two areas and modernize them for current residents.
The renovated areas were converted into open spaces with new paint, flooring, fixtures, and furniture.
Siepelmeier says the renovated areas will be well-utilized by facility residents.
Renovations were made possible by its donors. One significant gift came from former Emporia resident Nancy Keller, whose mother lived at the facility.
PMMA Vice President-Department of Giving Sarah Oenning says the funds for the project came from various donors besides Keller.
Oenning says Keller’s gift made a difference.
The project took 20 months to complete and cost $1.4 million.
