The Miami Marlins defeated the Kansas City Royals 6-1 Wednesday night to complete the 3-game sweep of the Royals.
The Royals scored first, Maikel Garcia scored on a Nick Pratto single in the 3rd inning.
Miami answered with 3 runs in the 3rd inning on a 3 run home run by Jesus Sanchez.
The Marlins added 3 more runs in the 8th. The Royals were held to 3 hits all night. Royals Manager Matt Quatraro said they face good pitching.
The Royals are off tonight. They will begin a 3 game series at Baltimore Friday night.
The Royals made a roster move, placing pitcher Josh Staumont on the 15-day IL with a neck strain. They also recalled pitcher Austin Cox from Triple-A Omaha.
