The Emporia High Lady Spartan basketball team went 8-0 at the Pittsburg State Team Camp that wrapped up Friday.
Emporia High played teams from Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Missouri. The Lady Spartans had wins over Blue Valley West, Silver Lake, Garden Plain, Olathe Northwest, Carthage (Mo.), Smithville (Okla.), Republic (Mo.) and Rogers (Ark.).
Coach Carolyn Dorsey says the Lady Spartans competed for all eight games.
Dorsey added its a big summer for the Lady Spartans after losing three players from a team that went 18-4 this past season.
Dorsey says it’s unknown at the moment if the Lady Spartans will play in any other team camps this summer.
Emporia High’s season opener this winter will be at home on December 1 against Ottawa.
