A Chase County man accused of possessing and distributing child sex abuse materials has pleaded guilty in federal court to a lesser charge related to child sex abuse.
Walter Haskin has pleaded guilty to attempted distribution of child pornography.
Fdeeral prosecutors accused Haskin of possessing and distributing sex abuse materials depicting sexual situations involving children under the age of 10.
Haskin now faces five to 20 years in federal prison, as well as a fine of up to $250,000, other assessments totaling over $40,000, restitution and forfeiture of property to the federal government. A sentencing date is not listed on the US Public Access to Court Electronic Records website.
