Council Grove will be the center stage for Washunga Days Friday and Saturday.
The event will take place along the Neosho Riverwalk.
Even with activities going into full force on Friday, there’s a free community event that’ll kick things off Thursday according to event organizer Jesse Knight.
Friday’s activities begin at 9 a.m. with the Council Grove Antique Expo. Evening activities kick off at 5 p.m. Music begins at 5:30 p.m. with Makayla Brownlee. At 7:30 p.m. Derek Calvin & The All Nighters take the state. Shane Smith and the Saints close out Friday’s festivities at 10 p.m.
Saturday’s activities begin full force at 8 a.m. with the Washunga Days Car Show with the antique expo and Flint Hills Artisan Fair opening at 9 a.m. The Washunga Days Parade takes place at 10 a.m. along Main Street.
Music begins at 3:30 p.m. Saturday with M31. At 5:30 p.m. Kota Lewis & The Flyers take the stage. Ragland performs at 7:30 p.m. which will be followed by fireworks by Stars and Stripes at 9:30 p.m.
Randall King will wrap up the festivities by taking the stage at 10 p.m.
Knight added the event wouldn’t be possible without its volunteers.
Tickets are $25 and will get attendees into both days of the festival.
