Showers and storms are possible until mid-evening, and as a result the Emporia Lions Club has canceled its flag-waving event on the Road S bridge over Interstate 35 for Wednesday afternoon. The American Legion Post 5 flag retirement ceremony will still be held at 6:30 pm at the Legion post.
Rain chances will resume Thursday night and continuing into Father’s Day.
