Thunderstorm chances aren’t good until Saturday, but there is a risk of a strong to borderline severe thunderstorm near or including Emporia through Saturday night.
The Storm Prediction Center has marginal risk areas early Friday, late Friday and Saturday evening:
*The early Friday risk area remains along and west of a line from Council Grove to Plymouth to near Virgil, with wind and hail the main concerns.
*The risk area for Friday night remains along and south of a line from near Cottonwood Falls to Madison, again for wind and hail.
*Saturday has a marginal to slight risk areawide, with the slight risk area along and south of a line from near Bazaar to Olpe to Gridley. The National Weather Service says all hazards are possible.
